What is a Complex Home Modification Assessment?
When a person’s home no longer meets their mobility, access or support needs, the right modifications can make a significant difference to safety, independence and everyday function. A Complex Home Modification Assessment may be undertaken to assess a home environment to understand a individual’s needs and recommend practical modifications to improve safety, access and independence.
At River Allied Health, Complex Home Modification Assessments are completed by our experienced Occupational Therapist, who assesses the person within their home environment and considers how the home can better support their current and future needs.
Recommendations may include changes to:
Bathrooms
Entrances
Access-ways
Internal layouts
And other areas of the home
These assessments may be appropriate when a person is having difficulty accessing, moving around or completing everyday activities safely within their home, and we can also help support funding applications and care planning where required.

Jack has recently made the permanent shift from Adelaide to Riverland with his partner, and is also a lecturer with the local Flinders University Occupational Therapy program.
